Isotope is back with a new watch. This time, the brand has chosen to put out a GMT watch with an innovative design: the Isotope GMT 0º.
Introducing the Isotope GMT 0º
The reason for the Isotope GMT 0º’s name is that Isotope is a brand based in Britain: on the same meridian as Greenwich, from which the term GMT is derived. Unlike most GMT watches, which indicate the time in a second time zone employing a hand that traverses the dial; the Isotope GMT 0º instead uses a GMT disc. The combination of this disc and a date dot is a unique feature for this watch. Combined with Isotope’s signature Lacrima shape on the dial, it looks very different from your traditional timepiece.

Isotope GMT 0º – First Impressions
First impressions are positive, then: the watch looks different, and I liked the last Isotope design (the Goutte D’Eau) enough to put my hands in my pocket and add it to my collection. It may take some time to get used to reading the dot-and-disc element, but the 41.5mm case at least gives plenty of room to fit the complication in. The price – it starts at £710 – reflects the unique design and high specification, but it does make it more than an impulse buy. Will it find a market in the same way as its predecessor? Find out more in a couple of weeks when we review a prototype.
