Arpiem Racematic

Hot on the heels of producing one of our favourite watches this year (the TJW-2), Arpiem is back with another racing watch. Introducing the Arpiem Racematic.

Introducing the Arpiem Racematic

Arpiem aims to bring together the worlds of cars and watches. Their latest release, the Racematic, is an automatic watch with the brand’s signature triple-layer dial. The movement Arpiem has chosen is the Miyota 9132 – a high-end Japanese automatic movement. RRP will be €495, but the watch is currently available for preorders on Kickstarter at just €345 – which we think is a bargain for the specifications on offer – not to mention the gorgeous looks.

There are three colour variants to choose from:

The TJW 3 is a new version of the TJW theme, dedicated to John Wyer highlighting the colours blue and orange. These colours are combined with a sand-coloured dial, distinguishing itself from other chrono-quartz versions of the TJW, which have black dials.

The TRB is a tribute to Mexican champions Ricardo and Pedro Rodriguez, both of whom died in racing, the first at the start of his career in 1962 and the second at his peak in 1971.

The TCC salutes the memory of the unforgettable Colin Chapman, creator of the LOTUS Cars brand, a brilliant, innovative and controversial character who possessed a dark side (even today, some believe that Chapman did not die but “vanished” in order to escape the English taxmen and its creditors…). The TCC takes up the legendary green and yellow colours. On the dial, the engraving « LIGHT IS RIGHT » sums up Chapman’s philosophy for the design of his vehicles.
