First Impressions

The  No 1973 is going to divide opinion. We like that the brand has gone its own way and not just made another identikit Submariner homage. It’s certainly unique-looking with a hint of the Seiko Monster in its case design. We admire the British-built credentials (which justifies its premium price point) and love the fact the watches are made to order and not simply rebadged mass-produced Chinese factory watches. We’d like to have seen a better movement, perhaps a 9-series Miyota if not a Swiss offering, and a bracelet rather than NATO straps. Overall, we’re looking forward to getting our hands on a review sample and putting the watch through its paces.
