DWISS R1 Watches Come To Kickstarter

DWISS watches

We spotted DWISS watches on a Facebook page recently and were really impressed with their designs. The company is running a new Kickstarter campaign for its new model, with 9 days to go.

After a successful campaign bringing a crowdfunded Swiss Made tourbillon to market for the first time, DWISS is back with a mechanical model to complete the R1 collection.

DWISS R1 Watches Come To Kickstarter

In 2017, DWISS launched a crowdfunding campaign for its R1 collection. The funding goal was reached in just 4 minutes for the collection which included tourbillon models, as well as automatic and quartz variants.

The new 12-day campaign features 100 limited edition ETA 7001, top grade, watches. The 17-jewel hand-wound movement has an Incabloc shock protection system and 42 hours of power reserve. The watch has other high-end features: a 40mm stainless steel 316L case, 10ATM water resistance, sapphire glass, Italian leather strap and luminous hands. As well as a leather strap, there is a stainless-steel bracelet option. As well as choosing a strap, backers have the option to customize the watch further by adding an engraving on the movement of up to 20 characters. The prices start at CHF 450.00, half of the estimated retail price. That is about £350 in Sterling.

About the Brand – DWISS

DWISS (Design Watch Independent – Switzerland) is an independent watch company founded in 2011 that produces creative and unique timepieces and sell them for what they consider “the right price”. It does so by relying on a business model that connects watch designer and maker directly to consumers and connoisseurs, eliminating distributor mark-ups. DWISS watches come from designers with a decade of experience in the watchmaking world. Each timepiece is assembled to the standards one expects of Swiss watches, and each watch strap is 100% Italian-made using the finest leather.
